Alter Ego is a digital painting.

Ten editions will have an additional 2 cm at the bottom (42 × 23.8 cm / with the white edge: 46 × 29.8 cm) with an ink remarque by me. There is an example in the thread; each remarque will be different.

I wanted to illustrate the concept of Alter Ego, a distinct and separate personality or identity that exists within an individual. It is often seen as a second self or a hidden aspect of one's character that can be quite different from their everyday persona.
Using one of my favourite games – chess, I wanted to show which personality is more predominant (light side has won).
There are many subtle and controversial details, like both sides wearing earrings of opposing colour; the alter has her hand down, while the light one has all hands visible; lighting plays a role as well, alter side is what the viewer sees first, as a first impression.
This work was also showcased on my last exam in Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze on July 4th. We had to come up with a concept related to the word "Mirror".
